Transfer Requests -- Out of County & Zone

Giles County Public Schools is happy to consider transfer requests for students.  

We accept two types of transfer requests:

  • Zone Transfer Requests -- A request for a student who currently resides in Giles County but would like to attend a school outside of their attendance zone.
  • Out-of-County (Non-Resident) Requests -- A request for a student who does not currently reside in Giles County to attend a GCPS school.  

Parents may submit a transfer request by completing the application linked here.  

Transfer requests are initially reviewed by the school principal.  The principal will consider multiple factors including current class sizes, program availability, and student information when deciding whether to approve or deny the request.
